Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been arrested by Police International Criminal Court

Rodrigo duterte: Donald Trump is continuously targeting big international institutions after assuming the presidential position in the US. The US has made it clear that it no longer wants to provide a single dollar financial assistance to the ICC. President Trump made fun of it, describing the International Criminal Court as ineffective.

Here, after the issued warrant of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Philippines government has arrested former President of the country Rodrigo Duterte. The ICC issued an arrest warrant against Duterte in cases of human rights violations and crimes.

Considered close to Trump

Rodrigo Duterte is considered close to former US President Donald Trump on the global stage. The two leaders have had good relations and during Trump’s tenure, there was a lot of strength in the relationship between the US and the Philippines. However, after Donald Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election in the US, Rodrigo Duterte was also out of power in the election held in the Philippines in 2022. Duterte had been politically marginalized after losing the election. But when Trump again won the President in America in 2024, Duterte hoped that good days would return for him too. Duterte was confident that after Trump came to power again, he would get support again on the international stage and his political future could get a new direction. But in the meantime, a warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) turned water to all their plans.

These allegations were made

Duterte has serious allegations of large -scale violence and human rights violations in the name of a campaign against drugs during the President’s tenure. When Rodrigo Duterte was the President of the Philippines, he launched many campaigns to make the country drugs free. But during these campaigns, his army and security forces took a violent attitude, in which thousands of people died.

It is alleged that on the orders of Duterte, the police and the army killed many people without any investigation. The case reached the International Criminal Court (ICC), where cases of human rights violations were heard. The court issued a warrant against Duterte and this warrant was sent to the Philippines government through Interpol.

Now the current government of the Philippines has arrested Duterte on the basis of the warrant of the International Criminal Court. However, claims of political sports are also being made behind this arrest. It is being said that the current President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marocos Jr. (B. Marcos), has done this trick to remove its biggest political rival Duterte from the road.
