Close to declaring America Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, the bipartisan bill introduced in Parliament

The US is once again moving towards declaring ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ as officially a terrorist organization. This step is not only important in terms of US national security, but will also strengthen the global efforts to deal with the ideological structure of political Islamism. This information is given in a report by The Capital Institute.

According to the report, a bipartisan bill has been introduced in mid-July by Republican MP Mario Diaz-Balart and Democratic MP Jred Moscowitz, demanding to declare Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. White House Press Secretary Caroline Lewitt has also confirmed this initiative.

The bipartisan bill received support from many major policy institutions

The report said, “This bilateral consent shows the growing understanding that even though the Muslim Brotherhood presents itself as a political movement, it is actually a conceptual source of violent Islamic networks like Hamas to Al-Qaeda.”

The bill has also received support from several major policy institutions of America, such as Heritage Foundation, Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) and American Midrist Coalition for Democracy (AMCD). These organizations have long revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood adopts a double strategy. On the one hand it offers modern image, on the other hand supports groups applying its agenda through violent mediums.

American Senator Ted Cruise has been the old supporters of such bills. He has been introducing a bill to declare Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization since 2015.

Establishment was done with the purpose of restoration of Islamic Khilafat

According to the report, the danger of Muslim Brotherhood is not just a political movement but a global project, which is in the fundamentalist thinking of Hasan al-Banna and Syed Qutub. In 1928, Egyptian Sufi pracharak Hasan Al-Banna founded Jamia Hasafia al-Khairia, which aims to restore the Islamic Khilafat. Later it was named Al-Ekhawan al-Muslimoon i.e. Muslim Brotherhood.

After the murder of Al-Banna in 1949, Syed Qutub took over the organization and prepared an ideological structure that later inspired jihadi organizations such as al-Qaeda and ISIS.

The report stated that Osama bin Laden’s mother had admitted that her son Abdullah became a radical after coming into contact with a Palestinian Brotherhood member named Ajjam. Ajjam admitted him to King Abdulaziz University of Jeddah. At the same time, the current head of al-Qaeda Ayman Al-Jawahiri also started with the Muslim Brotherhood.
