Ranjani Srinivasan, a student studying international affairs resident of India at Columbia University, had to leave the US after the student visa was canceled. He says, “I never thought that posting such political speech on social media can be like a terrible dream.”
The US State Department canceled a 37 -year -old student Srinivasan’s visa on March 5, allegedly accused of allegedly involving activities supporting terrorist organization Hamas. The State Department says that it has found his footage using Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home App at Lagardia Airport in New York during self-dispensing on March 11.
‘I never thought that it would be so terrible to post a post’
In an interview to the New York Times, student Ranjani Srinivasan said, ‘I am afraid that the most low-level political speech or what we all do- such as shouting on social media can also turn into a terrible dream of a kind of shout, I never thought. Someone is calling me a supporter of terrorist and in such a situation you really feel afraid of your life and your safety ‘.
Police had arrested
According to a New York Times report, Srinivasan’s troubles started last year when he was arrested from outside Columbia University. On the same day, pro -Palestinian protesters captured the Hamilton Hall. Ranjani Srinivasan went to a picnic with her friends that day and got caught in the police action due to the crowd while returning. However, she was not involved in the protest, but when she was passing through the spot, the police pushed and arrested her. Ranjani Srinivasan was detained for some time and two summons were issued. One to obstruct traffic and the other to refuse to be dispersed.

Canada had to leave America
According to the report, after some time, his case was dismissed and no criminal allegations were made as their lawyers and court documents are confirmed.
Srinivasan’s departure from America to Canada took place after the increasing action on foreign nationals associated with pro -Palestinian demonstrations. After the cancellation of the student visa, he immediately decided to leave the country for his safety.
