Russia-ukraine war: For the past few days, Russia has intensified air strikes on Ukraine. Meanwhile, former Russian President Dimitri Medvedev claimed on Sunday (9 March 2025) that the Russian army in the Kursk region surrounded Ukraine soldiers. In August last year, Ukraine infiltrated the Kursk region. This was the biggest attack on the Russian region since the Second World War. Ukraine captured the area of ​​1,000 square kilometers (386 square mi) in a few days. The areas that Ukraine captured, included the border city of Sudza.

Russia attacked Ukrainian security forces

It is being told that the Russian army walked inside the gas pipeline for several miles to attack Ukrainian security forces in the Kursk area from behind. Russia used this pipeline to send gas to Europe for the last few days. According to the news agency Associated Press, some Russian soldiers attacked Ukrainian security forces near Sudaza city from behind. Before that, Russian soldiers spent several days in this pipeline.

Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed on Saturday (8 March 2025) that the Russian forces used the pipeline to set foot outside Sudza city. He claimed that Russian security forces are being traced at this time and they are being stopped. Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky claimed Sunday that Russia carried out hundreds of airstrikes in a week.

Russia carried out many airstrikes in the last one week

Jailonsky posted on X and wrote, “During this whole week, Russia carried out hundreds of attacks against our people using various types of weapons. About 1,200 directed aerial bombs, about 870 attacker drones and more than 80 missiles were fired. These weapons include more than 82,000 foreign components.”

Appealing for help from allied countries once again, Jailonsky said, “Every day, we work with our partners to ensure that decisions are taken to provide life-saving assistance, such as- air defense system, investment in our defense production and strengthening sanctions against Russia.”
