Alan Musk wrote on the social media platform X, “I challenged Putin on Ukraine for a physical battle and my starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. If I shut it down, his entire frontline will be demolished.” Musk also said that he hates “years of massacre in a deadlock”, which Ukraine would inevitably lose. Musk targeted the Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky, saying that Jailonsky is forcibly pulling the war and has become a “never ending corruption game”.

Why is Starlinks so important for Ukraine?
Starlink is a satellite internet system operating by Musk’s company SpaceX. It is known to provide fast and safe internet connections in any corner of the world. After Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Ukraine’s fixed-line and mobile network services were badly damaged. As such, Starlinks helped the Ukrainian Army and the government by providing a strong communication network.
