Gallagher taps pro athletes for summer insurance internships

Why NWSL football players are taking internships in insurance industry

Insurance firm Gallaghar is tapping in a new type of summer intern: professional athlete.

Last year, the insurance giant expanded his internship program to offer the posts to Pro Athletes, giving him a route for life preparation after the game. In turn, Galagher discovered that the stars also shine from the field.

Galagher’s Chief Marketing Officer Chris Mead said, “They know that it likes to work hard and how much time it is to achieve that path.” “They know what to be part of a team and lead one.”

This year Galagher opened the program for eight members of the Chicago stars of the National Women’s Football League. Lilani Nesbeth and Chardone Karran, a current and former midfielder with the team, jumped on the occasion of a payment internship respectively.

Nesbeth said in an interview with CNBC, “This means to be able to get our foot in the door.”

“I never worked outside football,” Curan said. “As a pro football player, I was my first career, and I have never been in a corporate setting.”
