The Women’s Tennis Association has introduced a rule, which allows players to protect their ranking during fertility treatment.
Policy means that players can get away from professional tennis to undergo processes such as egg or fetal cold and return to tour with a protected rankings.
Players should stay out for a process for 10 consecutive weeks, and they get a “special entry ranking” depending on their recent average. It can be used for three tournaments after returning.

The rule expands the current support programs of WTA, such as maternity leavePostpartum support and breeding grant.
